Full Stack Engineer

The software engineer reports to a Software Segment Manager or IT Director. The software engineer has broad responsibilities related to the development, management, and support of software systems. The team you are joining is small, agile, and highly collaborative. The software engineer is expected to work closely with product managers, UIX, and customers.

They ensure implementation and delivery within agreed-upon parameters. The primary nature of TMA’s software solutions is to develop custom software solutions to implement and improve workflows for state and local governments. Often these workflows were previously manual or partial electronic solutions, so it can be safely said you’d be improving how tax dollars are spent and making someone’s job easier. The team encourages creative input from all disciplines on the team to accomplish this. TMA software solutions strive to use modern languages, frameworks, and DevOps practices.

The ideal candidate would be a full stack developer but will consider a front end or backend developer who wishes to learn to be proficient in both areas.

Responsibilities

●   Work with Product Management and Customers on software solutions

●   Story Engineering

●   Code Reviews

●   Technical Documentation

●   Prototyping

 

Desired Technical Skills – Front End

●   Strong vanilla and modern JavaScript skills

●   Strong HTML and CSS knowledge

●   2-4+ years of ReactJS experience. Will consider proficiency in other front end frameworks such as Angular and Vue.

●   Comfortable with Node.js and NPM

●   Understanding of AJAX requests and asynchronous coding

●   Comfortable with implementing UI workflows

●   Experience with UI libraries such as Bootstrap, Material UI, etc.

●   Plus: any CI/CD and DevOps skills

 

Desired Technical Skills – Backend

●   2-4+ years of Java web application experience

●   2-4+ years of Spring Boot experience preferable

●   Solid object-oriented programming knowledge

●   Experience writing unit tests and using mocks

●   Ability to understand and author REST APIs

●   Understands SQL principles

●   Plus: any CI/CD and DevOps skills
